bar width
« on: May 08, 2013, 08:50 AM »
whats the deal on why the bars are soo big these days?   my race bike has renthal moto bars on it (7.5 x 27.5)  and the ones on my Verde are 8.5 x 28.5...or maybe even wider with end caps on.

i find myself riding with my hands a few inches in from the end of the bar, ive seen a few oethers do this too, should i cut them down or is this just how they are nowadays?   no problem with the height of the bars as i dont mind them being a bit higher (nicer on my back)

god knows why they are so wide...i clip all sorts with the ends of te things and feel like im driving a bus!

Cut them down if you feel a bit uncomfortable dude, its your bike  :daumenhoch:

Personally I prefer them high and wide, I feel more at one with the bike.  I had some lower more narrow bars before and im really glad I changed them.

But do whats best for you bud  :daumenhoch:

Ride whatever fits. Anything less than about 27.5 inches and my arms are pointing inwards towards the bars. About 28 is perfect for me.
