Weren't the originally anodised ? I'd get them re-done, just out of interest does anyone have a good way to remove the plastic end caps without damaging them as i'm wanting to strip the anno off of a set this morning

It depends if you are riding the bike or not as to the finish I would use on these. If ridden I would leave raw,as any powder/paint soon wears off them when ridden.
Leave them bare metal. Powder on DX never looks right, its far too thick and the pedals lose the natural texture of the alloy. If you do spray them use a thin coat of spray paint.

No Shimano DX were always painted . had a couple NOS boxed pairs I believe this was because the bodies are alloy and the pins are steel Mine are painted now too ! A little experiment, does anyone have any 9/16 hubs or will the hubs swap pver from say some victor dx pedals if i managed to get hold of some of these ??
