1981 Torker MX
« on: May 01, 2013, 01:12 PM »
I picked up these lovely fork a while ago now but didn't really know what to do with them. Then, Ben (Kaner) put his Torker frame and fork up for sale and after looking at it many times, I had an image of what I wanted to do with it. All I had to do was seal the deal with Ben. He was extremely helpful and a deal was done. He even offered to personally deliver it for me. Thank you Ben, without this frame I could not have pulled this build off. The rest is now history  ;D

Everything is in keeping with 1981 as referenced through all the online magazines I could get at, well, nearly all the parts  :D

So here it is guys and I hope you like it  :daumenhoch:

And my rider/survivor/bitd build that I have changed a couple of parts on  :smitten:

also a 1981 Torker MX

Thanks for taking the time to comment or just browse  :daumenhoch:

For a southern lad, you're canny at building up decent bikes Terry. That white one is fooking ace. Love the Bottemas and the Cook Bros bars

Thank you Gentlemen, and Rich  ;)

I'm really really happy with this one and looking forward to getting out on it. It took some time to achieve what I was wanting and trying to use original parts too, down to the genuine Oakley decals. There is even an 'advertisement' decal  mounted underneath from the centre of the BB, running up the down tube for when performing said Tabletop   ;D  8)

The plate also took some to and fro'ing with Mike (Grab on Kid) but, he came up trumps in the end and created a work of art, thank Mike  :coolsmiley:

I thought my hardest find would be the yellow and blue Terry cables for the 'cable/lever boot split' but, that was surprisingly one of the easiest and, the grips came up on Ebay just at the right time  :4_17_5:

I had to strip the mint Tourney caliper and NOS DC clamp though, sorry  :-[

(The seat is a limited edition run Stu  ;D  )
