can the tuff brakeing surface be improved

hey guys got my first set of tuffs a few days ago brand new from danscomp and their the coolest wheels ever but my one problem is the braking surface...


all i have to say about that is 


its like it slides. i noticed a glaze on the surface when i first got them and since then its worn off a little but the surface is still slick. if i sand it would it be like pads and be more sticky.  if not is their any other way. PLEASE HELP ME

they never were the best things top stop with back in the day.
perhaps the just need wearing in a bit.

yeah i heard it was bad but geez!!! i have a set of gt mags that ive had for a while and i can dial the brakes in on them perfect. i bought brand new kool stop eagle II claw pads wich are basically skyway tuff pads made by skyway(same design) and they still suck. the rear work great but their u-brakes, but the front is a dc mx900 and it worked great till now. i figured they would wear in but will the sanding speed that process up.

i got better out back, diatech hombre u-brake. them things will stop a mack truck!!! LOL
and the 900's up front work great with everything except these tuffs. so is their anything i can do to the braking surface to make it better.

brand new animal illegal cables, its a quality braking system but is their anything i can do to make the BRAKEING SURFACE better. theirs probly things i can do to make the brakes better but im broke i just need to know if theirs something i can go to make the surface grip better, the tuffs are like 3 days old and the surface slides like grease. and YES ive cleaned the rims.

Have you had a look on some trials forums? - I think the trials boys used to rub a block of tar on the braking surface - may help if a little grabby...

or the old cola trick were you smear coke on ya rims makes em nice and sticky

you could try using a fine grade of wet and dry on them, say, 1000 grit, just to take off the surface layer.

And maybe use coarse sandpaper on the brake pads to de-glaze the surface.

i tried everything it drove me mad, now they are sitting in the loft, i got some alloys instead
