is the gold intact or is it all chrome

all can be restored to showroom condition , if you have deep pockets  ;D

Nitromors the gold superchrome (coating) off and you should have a nice chrome frame then. Pop over to www.raleighburner.com and PM fhmreader (he might be a member here I don't know). But he'll refinish the gold superchrome for you... very nice !!!

and then you'll want to purchase some decals from bmxman or retrochap... both can be found on the burner forum.

Basically get yourself over there...  ;)

Thanks for all your responses. Its amazing. First time I have used a forum. The burner has round tubing unlike the one I had when I was ten which had oval and I have such fond memories of. I will get in touch with the raleigh burner forum as advised, and continue watching and hopefully learning from this site :)

One more thing... why are burners so crap and what should I aspire to?

Nothin wrong with Burners...  ::)

They just aren't appreciated here because they are heavey and have bad welds and bad geometry... Not race-able basically.

But for the majority of burner fans it is about nostalgia... and the majority of us don't race.

There is no reason why you can't have plenty of burners... Skyways... Haros etc...  :LolLolLolLol:

There's a few high spec burners too... which were raced.... Actually just get one of each of them !!  ;)
