just a few pics from the UCI Supercross at Manchester, was a fookin awesome night, massive respect to the racers, they've got balls..even the women. Well done to Liam Philips and Shanaze who stormed all the motos and smashed the finals, the arena and track is spot on. my pics arent the best but you get the idea

the pro's have been timed at 51mph at the bottom of the start hill and it takes just over 1 second to get there...

She won the elite women's race by a distance too.

Liam Phillips had an awesome meeting too.

GAZ - thanks for sharing, we watched it all online and all the coverage was from the other side of the track so nice to see the view from the stands as well.

I read this morning that Felicia Stancil (USA) who crashed has severed an artery leading to her liver, as well as broken ribs, collar bone etc etc. Arielle Martin made the final, she was in Intensive Care for a couple of weeks before the Olympics with serious internal injuries after a bad off at their SX track at Chula Vista. So yeah, they really are putting it on the line for relatively little reward.

wow that start hill

Rob, even the little hill on the left is fast as fook - I've raced there twice and am just about hanging on to the bike by the time the first jump hits you

the crash that Felicia Stancil had was a bad one, hope she gets through it ok, we were laughing before the races about being on the 1st berm and seeing some good crashes..when it happens right in front of you though it isnt funny :-[
