More Mid School wheel Porn.

A few of you were interested when I posted my 1st Gen Kovachi wheels so I thought Id share my latest addition to the wheel collection. As you can see this is a set of 93 Hyper Pro wheels and you dont see them very often these days. These were one of my favourite wheel sets when I was racing in the 90's but I could never find (or afford) a set. The hubs are in really good shape for their age with all the original decals still in place. The axle nuts have been swapped out over time but aside from that they are all original. Im sure they are not to everyones taste but I absolutely love them.

John Kovachi passed away a few years ago. Going slightly off topic,Doublecross are using the Kovachi name on their new hubs...maybe they can`t come up with anything of their own.

Cheers for all the comments guys, good to know there is a healthy appreciation for mid school bits on Rad. 

Well seeing as they stole their frame design and company name from Elf, Id hardly be surprised if they ripped off the Kovachi name on their hubs. Hopefully they have done it with the permission of the Kovachi family. If not thats pretty lame in my opinion.

not enough mid 36 hole wheels around, esp rims so good to see a real nice pair

i need some that are suitable for my fueler so i can use the super pros elsewhere

also looking at your kovachi wheels makes me wish i never sold mine

Agreed Kev, very few high end Mid Race wheels seem to come up. There were so many amazing ones in the 90's as well but I guess they were just made in fewer numbers then the 80's stuff.

yeah in the 80's everyone used 36 for racing and freestyle so lots were produced

when the 90's came along nearly all freestylers wanted 48's so less 36's were produced

now new school riders want 36's and not 48's so 48's are now hard to get hold of
