Integrated Seatpost - cut it off? (Subrosa DTT)
« on: April 20, 2013, 06:19 PM »
Hi All

Almost done on my DTT build so although I have not ridden it yet, I can not imagine that Im going to get on with the low seat.  So, Im considering cutting it off and putting on a regular clamp so I can install a standard post.

About 1 year ago, someone on here did exactly this to a MkII DTT but cant find their details.

So, would you do it?  Would it reduce the frame's value?  Any tips on a good finish?  I am pretty darn careful with this sort of thing so Im confident I can make a good job of it..

Thoughts??

Thanks,

Paul

I think it was Steven Costa, GTnumber1 that did it, should be easy enough to do, and as they were available as a normal seat post too, I can't see it affecting values.

Personally I wouldnt do it as it will take away the frame's originality!

Keep it original  :daumenhoch:

Cut it off Paul  :daumenhoch:  If you are going to keep it, what does it matter mate. Too many bikes sitting around gathering dust these days. Ride it while you can  :daumenhoch:

I wouldn't cut it off personally but if you are adamant you can get special clamps to guide a hack saw straight for this sort of thing  :daumenhoch:
Sixteen thirty-two. What is that? A year?   No, it's your top score on Pole Position.
