I had a set in the 80s. They are great rims, made by Ambrosio (or something like that). Very light and great for braking due to the ribbed (insert joke here) nature of the side wall. Almost as flexible as Zs but so much more ridable. Great wheels. :daumenhoch:

I've got Ambrosio Durex rims on my road bike. They were the rim of choice for pro cyclists riding the Paris-Roubaix in the 80's & 90's.

Inferior arayas, but they're rarer now so that means they are automatically more expensive and therefore also now miraculously better through value alone. Amazing.

I would say they fill the gap between Weinmann rims and Araya 7C's and Ukai box rims. They are a little more flexible than Araya but not on Z rim flexibility. They are soft too which is why they wear down quicker than Araya.

lol so true!  I prefer the cheaper Spencer rims, very similar in style and performance!
