This all happened several years ago.
I'm new here so I thought I'd replay the drama and show off a bit.  :)

When I first spotted it, the guy who owned the container wouldn't let me pull the bike out and sent me on my way. After a week of nervous waiting he called me back. He tried to do some research on it, but wasn't able to come up with anything. Luckily there are no decals to indicate the model. He accepted my lowball offer and was even surprised at how much I offered him for it. Needless to say. I was happy too.

Good job, that is awesome, have you still got it - what did you do with it - keep it as is?

I still have it. I should have left it untouched. Instead I had a vision in my head and went with it. I wasn't happy with how it turned out, so it's back down to frame and fork again.
This is how it looked for a little while...

Those 84's are realy rare & the most sought after 20II - I'm sure you know that.
Here's some pics of RL on his 84 20II - though it might give you some inspiration.

One of the first 250 all painted 20II's is the rumor. I've seen just a few others in white and know somebody who had an all turquoise one. I haven't seen any other colors.
A friend of mine did a replica of the RL prototype bike some time around 2004. He even went so far as to cut out the center top tube support.
I've had mine up for sale a couple times, but I always have a change of heart and decide to keep it in the end.
