Ahoy!
« on: April 01, 2013, 02:37 PM »
Hi guys

I'm new to the Forum and look forward to getting more involved! I'm 29 and have been riding BMXs since I was about 14 or so. I started off playing in the streets and the field across the road from my house, I started racing and did that for about 4 or 5 years. Since then I've just been riding for fun. I ride a bit of everything, but I prefer trails or a good park! A few years ago I built up a FBM Angel of Death, it was probably around 10 years old at the time,

This is my current ride, Deluxe Tech 2:

Off the top of my head, I've ridden the following over the last 15 years, more or less in that order:
Circa '97 Dyno VFR
Mosh Pro
Schwinn Pro Stock Comp
Haro S.R 2.0 (3.0 build kit)
Powerlite P-51 Mustang
S&M Dirt bike
DK General Lee (Lee Ramsdell's ex bike)
Hoffman Butcher (fond memories)
Kink Cielencki (custom 19" tt)
Mongoose Importan (destroyed in 2 weeks)
S&M Classic Dirt Bike (ran pegs, bent the dropouts in  week, bad decision on my part)
FBM Live Wire
FBM PW Moto
FBM Autopilot
Fly Luna
Mongoose Fraction
Salvo (prototype, South African brand from Cape Town):

a bit of a mixed bag... ha ha! I have more pics if anyone's interested, didn't want to bomb this thread!

My latest acquisition, a '95 GT Fueler:

I'll start a thread for this...

A token riding shot:

Cheers

Brad

Ha ha!

Looking back, I seemed to feel invincible on the Butcher and for that reason I was quite fond of it! The PW Moto and Cielencki were super dialled build, lots of love for them. In 2005 I broke me elbow and it took years for me to regain my confidence. My left arm onl straightens about 70% now, and I've felt 100% on the bike since then.

My P51 Mustang was by far my favourite race bike. I enjoyed the Salvo too, will have another one some day. I need to trim the bars on my Deluxe and get some 170mm cranks and then I think I'll enjoy that a bit more.

Yup, born and raised in Johannesburg. Been living in the UK for nearly two years. That trails shot is from my mate Wayne's trails in Cape Town.
