Cam you help!
« on: March 23, 2013, 11:55 AM »
Okay guys, need some local knowledge here please.

I know Porky says that the 'new' A'me cam grips are directly off the 'original' moulds but, how can you tell the difference then between an original early '80's grip and 'new' reproduction grip  :-\

Is it the colour ??? Are there any differences that I am missing ???

Can you help ???

These are alledged originals

Porkie's A'me cams. He only has baby blue.

Aren't all the new ame grips including the Cams made from a completely different compound than the original 80's ones, they are described as being made from Vulcathane, which sounds fairly modern, on their site where as in old Ame ads they were made from thermo-flo rubber, which I think was softer.

So maybe newer Cams have a different feel to them, obvoiusly you'd need an old and new pair to compare the difference.
