1985 Hutch Trickstar (a build with a difference)
« on: July 03, 2013, 03:21 PM »
I got this in a trade a little while back and wanted to do something different with it. Not on the lines of Mr Kap and his 'Disc Star' though, old news  ;D , so I set about having a think on what I could do. I do have a few parts collected together now and in this thread you will be able to see it come together, all be it slowly, as some parts will be 'different' from the norm and will take some working out to get them operational.

Here is the frame set. 1985 Jap made Hutch Trickstar in candy blue  :coolsmiley:

Some guys are perfectionists on some parts, others on paint/chrome etc etc.... but for me, it's all about the dropouts  :smitten:

Stay tuned for updates over the coming weeks and hope you enjoy  :coolsmiley:

I picked up a re-chromed set of 2000 we the people cranks from Ebay, turned out to be a Rad member  :D , which came with a mid BB. Matt came to the rescue with a couple of new black bearing cups so today, I set about them with a small amount of oven pride and Duraglit, and voila, BB and non drive side arm fitted. I was going to fit the drive side for now and realised that the crankset also has the chainring fixing bolt missing  :yahoo_silent:

So if anyone can help, it would be appreciated  :daumenhoch:

:LolLolLolLol:  Sorry Matt. Kids and stuff, you know how it is  :D

I was waiting for parts to arrive to get cracking on it but having issues in sorting/deciding where I want to go with the rear brake setup  :(

The wheels are now built, just need to true the rear and fit the tyre and tube, if that helps mate  :teef:  I will get some progress shots as soon as okay  :daumenhoch:
