1984 Redline RL20 Prostyler
« on: March 13, 2013, 03:40 PM »
At last I found an NOS front white Peregrine Master (gotta love Ebay Germany), so I've updated my Prostyler and got some new pics. I entered this into BOTM, so you've probably seen it already, but I'm so excited I'm gonna post it up anyway!   :P

I just need some fork pegs now.

Cheers guys  :daumenhoch:

deeman, Good question...I had thought they were RL20 bars when I bought them. Actually, they're not even close   :-\ Back to the drawing board it is then  ;D

I wouldn't bother mate, they look lovely and suit the bike-i just wondered what they were!If you wanted to be really correct it would have Stu thompsen bars on it,either V or straight, and a brute stem like the 84 ad bike but i don't really like any of those parts!.I got halfway through building one of these but gave up for various reasons,i was going to use the forklifter freestyle bars on it.The early versions of these bars came out in 85.I was kinda working to the look of the test bike in the 85 Freestylin' magazine test, with a peregrine seat, forklifter stem and forklifter freestyle bars as it's the look I prefer, but then mine wasn't a genuine 84 .The 84 ad bike just looks like a race bike with a coaster tab and tuffs!Seriously though yours looks right with those bars whatever they are,I like them alot.If I was to change anything it would probably be the calipers for MX1000's to make it more authentic, but nevertheless you have done an OUTSTANDING job on a bike I would REALLY love to own above pretty much anything old school :daumenhoch:

 :daumenhoch: Cheers fellas!

deeman, I think you're right. I do like the bars that are on it. I'd like to ID them too. I'm not sure my pad will fit on the RL20 bars anyway :)

:LOL will do mattbloke

Nice but with the direction you've taken I would be inclined to go full factory spec...(FFS!)

I'm sure I'll revisit this build over time, I can't see myself adding any new frames to my collection for a while, missus will castrate me, but I have got a Ripper and a Pro Class that need some attention over the Spring.  :)

One of my all time fav bikes, and you've made a great job with it, couldn't and wouldn't fault it. ;)

My hand hoover over it as winner in botm, but I had to plump for the Gen1, defo took 2nd place for me, if I could've voted twice
