Never fitted one before but fitted nicely onto the mounts but either the wheels is too wide or I'm being a nob! Cos there's no way I can move the arms inwards, hope this makes sense!

Looks like the frame is meant to use Canti brakes, as opposed to V's?

Yes I have got to agree. Maybe cantilever brakes are mean't to be used.
Can you remove the brake blocks and clip it all together. So we can see the clearance between the rims and the arms.

I didn't take a lot of notice before, but looking at the frame it's a Torker Yes? I have seen some on here with V brakes so perhaps it needs to be a certain type, but that looks way off!

Looking at the other pro st torkers on the museum the adjusting cone washers are on the outer side of the arms.
So the pad is more or less flush against the arm.
Also the pads were quite thin.

If it came with a bolt on cable stop which goes on the brake bridge I think You put Canti brakes on it, if not there must be some crazy angled arm V brakes out there!

Stu is right-swap the fat/thin spacers over on the blocks.Torkers of this era were designed for `v`s not cantis.

James is correct, they were designed for V brakes, thats why there is no cable guild built into the frame behind the seatpost, you took off a "bolt on" one that was on the brake bridge I think?
You need some koolstop thin line pads on there, with the thinnest spacer nearest the rim (other way round than shown), they will work peachey then
The problem is that those rims are quite wide compared to most race rims.

You could try to remove the larger spacer from the brake pad. The little fat one on the brake pad side. im pretty sure that one is flat both ends and the one before it is curved to fit the mounting on the brake

How wide are those rims??? 1.5 is the max I would go on there as I've seen these on BMX museum with DX v brakes here so they must fit

The rims seem just fine.If after flipping the brake pad spacers over (the small ones on Koolstops need pulling off with pliers as they are pressed on) try moving the locating pin on the brake arm down to the middle hole. You should be OK,I`ve had DX Vs and ran them on loads of frames.

Just been or and measured the width of the rim 4cm don't know what that makes it 1.75 I think
And I've changed the spacers round suddenly it ain't looking too bad when the other pads arrive I think it'll be spot on
