Touching Up With Nail Varnish.

Has anybody done this?

I have a set of black Tech 3s and some pedals that need a bit of a touch up due to minor scratches. If I'm honest, they aren't noticeable enough, but it's bothering me enough to ask the question, and I can't be bothered with the expense or messing about getting them reworked.

I have done it with my Candy Red Performer.
When I got it the wheel nut had scratched the down tube and torn the decal.
A quick touch up with Boots' finest add another decal and hey presto.


However,  I did look a cnut walking round the Liskeard branch of Boots with a set of Performer handlebars trying to colour match them

Haha, I did the same walking around B&Q with my Performer forks last year.

It was for the paint colour match chart thingys they do, before I had a RAL chart.

I've raided Mrs chubbs nail varnish for blue & red anno stuff n it's worked a treat. on black I've just used a touch up stick

Dan if you had thought  about this 12 months ago you could have touched up that street beat

Unbelievably, none of the orange paint on that was harmed, not even a chip. However, the EZ bars, proper DC Tech 3s and A'me's were ruined.

Even more unbelievable, is that 3 days before the StreetBeat went bouncing around 2 lanes of bypass, I was taking my DP with newly rechromed ladder bars, now that would have made me cry.

Used to use nail varnish to repair chips on my stage guitar. Mahogany sunbust les paul. Seemed to be easiest to get the right shades of dark brown. Leave it a week or so and it t-cuts lovely 

Would deffo consider using it on brakes etc, especially to tidy up a daily rider.
