Frame & Forks Painted Opinions needed please
« on: March 05, 2013, 10:31 AM »
As it was nice yesterday thought i'd pull the beat out and get some pics of the old girl in the sun  :coolsmiley:
I still need to get the repaired skyway forks painted up and get some other bits before i can build her but was looking for some input on a couple of bits.
The colour scheme is mainly going to be the frame colour and black but.
Was thinking about painting bars and forks black, or maybe just the bars ??? Thinking it maybe just a little to muchbronze if i do all in one colour???
 Thoughts?

Cheers Al

I reckon it's fine as is.Black bits will break it up nicely.Black bars n forks would look a bit new school.Maybe you could get a couple of bits like the seatclamp or the levers/calipers copper plated to complement the colour scheme! :daumenhoch:

Taken in what you were saying but I think I'd be better off leaving the seat clamp, levers and calipers in black to break up  ???

I think it will look fine with black bits.Don't know where the copper idea came from, must be the frame colour that made me think of it!!Was just throwing it out there! :daumenhoch:

Either gold or chrome components. No black!! It'll make it look cheap...

I bought Spens 79 Team Goose in a similar colour and have it dressed with black Maxi Cross, black Tuf Neck Pat P stem etc and it looks gorgeous, but I also have chrome bars and seat post just to balance it out a bit  :daumenhoch:

It looks brighter than yours but thats the light, he had it built with black rims so closer to your colour scheme - assuming your zed's are black

Mmm in guessing thats painted Ford Saluki brown metalic? imo black zeds with tanwalls will look nice and retro black bits where you have to with lots of chrome will be cool :coolsmiley:

Without buying more components build it up with what you have.

Im not saying black makes any bike look cheap, I just thought it wouldn't work as well with that colour... It may look ace...just experiment...
