Removing grips without damaging them or the bars ???

Why using hairspray to put them back on ?

The spray is nice and wet so the grip slides on easy, then the spray sets and turns sticky, so the grips are stuck to the bars and don't move.

I have used a quick squirt of brake cleaner to fit grips recently. It evaporates and doesn't leave anything nasty behind.
This might not be a good idea on painted bars and there is the chance it could make the grip go a bit funny depending on what they are made of. It was fine on chrome bars and rubber grips I put on my daughters MTB.

but you have to lift the grip , to let the WD40 flow between the grip and bars. And i think you have to use a tool for that.

So you can damage also the bars with it

a jewellers screwdriver is enough to lift it without damaging the grip or bars

I use those thin wooden Kebab skewers (ello matey peeps) & either wd40 type stuff or just water to get 'em off. Hairspray 'em on
