Free to a good home - Haro Mirra 540
« on: July 07, 2011, 10:24 PM »
Long story this one, but this frame has been knocking about in my garage for ages. It's a chrome 2000 or 2001 Mirra540, with a couple of dents and marks, but perfectly straight to ride. I have the forks to go with it, which run the now defunct 12mm axle slots.  There is a wheel that will fit, or you could butcher things about in true midschool tradition and fit whatever the hell you like....

This bike has some history, it was owned by forum owner Rombloke, then his son, then my mate, then it came back to me in a px deal.  It might even be the frame that cost Dave his dashing good looks, but you'll have to ask him, I'm not certain.

Just cover the p&p and it's yours.

As we're in the sensible section of the forum, I'm sure I don't need to mention I will be less than fcuking happy if I give it to someone in good faith and it turns up on Ebay the very next week.

For those of you not so familiar with the midschool Haros, they started to improve around this time and their geometry was pretty bloody good. They do make a really nice mid rider.

I'll whack some photos up when I'm back home next week.

I'd be willing to have that Rob, just starting to think about re building my snow bike that got nicked ready for trhe winter, I reckon that'd be a good start, if you don't it not being ridden as a bike.

12mm slots wont matter a bit for bolting angle bracket to!

Cheers

FFS don't let Mark have it Rob... it'll only end up in the hands of some thieving little Lesta toe rag and used in drive by shootings  :crazy2:

If Mark doesn't take it and chop it up, I'd like this to be my first move away from race bikes and go freestyle!  ;D

Ed - yeah, it is one of those, although nowhere near as pretty....

Munny - as a snowboarder myself, I reckon a snowbike would be the perfect way for it to see it's days out.

I'll be in touch  :daumenhoch:

Yeah, could be.  A few firms tried it a few years back as a compromise between the other two, but ultimately it didn't catch on. No big deal though, you can just let a 10mm axle sit where it sits in the 12mm slots - it does no harm, and it's only 1mm off each side if you wanted to open the forks up for 14mm.  No dramas either way.
