If not run a slightly smaller front sprocket like a 38 or 40t with a coaster at the rear to give a good ratio.
I wouldn't run a coaster Stu with such a small front ring. Coaster sprockets are normally 18T plus and with a 40T at the front, it would be like trying to ride a flatland setup.

I would try something like a Shimano DX hub at the rear Jaymz. Flip the sprocket inwards to move the chain away from the stay. They are normally 14T too so running a 40T at the front is okay with it.

Terry what the fook are you talking about???

I'm not talking about a coaster on a set of tuffs from the 80's mate.
I'm talking about a 90's freecoaster like a nankai, static or sym hub. These all run 16 down to 13 tooth rear sprockets mate.  Come on son get with the mid school!!!  ;D

You can go down to a 10/11/12t with a Kore coaster cog, best to weld them on though  :daumenhoch:

Been playing this morning in the man den, got lots done as you can see.
The one problem that was outlined badly by 2hip was the sat stays, well what this problem is the free wheel grinds on it, but by adding 3 washers it fixed the problem, but also meant it took a great deal of force to open the stays and get the rear wheel in, but it's done, the other problem with it is the 990 mounts are really too far towards the rear of the frame, in order for the blocks to be anywhere near the rim the wheel has to be a bit far back in the drops, but anyway, it's not like I'm going to be riding it in anger so alls good, here are some pics

Spec so far
Wilkerson San Quentin bars with Jive grips
Profiles 175
TNT 44t
Dc ad990
Seventies wheels

Just waiting on my headset, levers and pegs now

Managed to get a couple of hours in the man den this evening. Couple of small issues raised their heads

1. Supernatural forks need 2 layers of coke can shim to properly seat the crown race
2. 1" threadless 2Hip forks are nothing like 1"1/8 threadless forks see here for how to guide http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php'topic=159098.0;topicseen
3. Top giro plate fouls the bottom of the stem
4. Once top plate has been ground down and sorted, giro doesn't work as there is no distance between the plates and the cables will not tension

point 4 you might be able to shorten the cable by using knarp type things

Ive got a gyro on mine Jay? And so did Robbo? Have a look at our build threads and see if they look any different?

I know I used a beartrap 2 headset on mine if that helps?

.....but then that was on a couple of big boys so maybe it differs slightly? The test pics show supernaturals with a gyro though?

Another couple of hours this morning and some more mods to the already modded frame, proper mid school this, nothing fits

So front hub rubs on peg bosses, need to space out forks with washers

Gyro sorted, but on max extension of the cables

Back wheel slammed almost to the end of thE dropouts otherwise brake won't reach the rim

No bolts for the peg mounts so pegs on axels for now

Acs rear calliper modded to fit front need pads as well and right calliper arm won't move

So still a bit to go before I can give it a good riding

And I weighed it, see pic below

Modded headset

Hub rubbage

And the winner is

Could you use a dremel and take a skim out of the inside of the top nut?
