So this is aimed at the members like myself that gave BMX up BITD but happily stumbled on it again.

How long were you into it then compared to how long you've been back into it?

For me, then - April '83 - Sept '87 - 4.5 years.
Now, Oct '08 - present, nearly 4.5 years, and counting.

Having seen the numbers on the rides just keep going up I hope it is here for a good while longer.. You can't beet the feeling of ripping around on a kids bike feeling thirteen again.

Started in 82 and rode for about 17 years!

I have rode for about 10 minutes,bike not finished yet. Must have looked mad a 43year old doing a wheelie up the street

Rode from around 83 to 89 (4 seasons racing)
Raced again from 95 to 99
Got into old school in July 2010.

Still got all my bikes except the Hutch I cracked which went to Hutchman.

Started BMX around the start of the major boom in the UK, mid to late '81. Packed it in around mid to late '86 in exchange for drugs, sex, beer and MX, having picked up my first DT50 and RM80

My mate Lee dragged me back into it around '88ish for another year until he got his RM125 and that was it until around 2009 when my mate Giles was chatting about getting a 24 inch old cruiser. We trawled a few sites and came across the Museum

Been hooked ever since

79-85 when I got a Raleigh Maverick which started my life long affair with MTB - now a Cannondale man.
2008 I really got back into old school BMX - I have zero interest in mid or new school (sorry chaps).

Starting looking at Radbmx.co.uk in 2010

Finally got myself a frame to build in Jan 2013

Raced 85-90.
Raced 2010 onwards.

I was a Grifter boy before that and had a BMX from Xmas 83 onwards...
Started watching the odd race from late 2000s onwards but seriously never thought I'd ride again

Now I ride virtually every day, have raced for

, commute by BMX, am on the committee at Bradford and will soon be a qualified BMX coach

In 1979, a team Murray was bought for me. Had a bmx at my mums house until 95. Started looking about 4 years ago. Wish I'd kepted some of those parts. But then,if my sister had balls, she'd be my brother.

think i got my first bmx in about 1982 stopped rideing in 86
thought about restoreing my bikes back in 2009 when jim wise told me about rad
so i registered on here then i forgot all about the bikes until last year when i finaly got some of them restored

During the long summer of 82 my brother had a Hafords Tracker and I had my Grifter. A few kids had BMX's and the local rich kid had two - a white Ammaco 202 and a black CyclePro with yellow OGK's. We used to all have a go on whichever was spare and jump off the ramps we'd made down the local bomb-hole.

In spring 83 when the aforementioned local rich kid got upgraded to a brand new mk3 Supergoose then my brother and I had saved enough money to pay for half of his old bikes and our parents bought the rest. £30 each they were.... Rode the cr@p out of them all summer and then Christmas 83 got a Mongoose Cali and my bro got his Chromo Burner.

Broke practically every part on it except the frame for another 18 months then sold it to pay for my first holiday away from my patents just after my 16th birthday as it had been dusty a while due to the discovery of girls and what I got off my girlfriend for my 15th birthday the summer before had made it impossible to concentrate solely on BMX.....

Mountain bikes for a few years folowed then my bro found a NOS boxed Ammaco 202 for my 30th birthday in summer '99 and we've been back on the scene ever since. Found this place a good few years later but already had a Gen1 and a Cali in my garage as well as the Ammaco (which is the black one I still have).

When it's in your blood it's in your blood. The ramp nights are great even though i'm not very good but I still have a good go and the pub rides are mental, especially Radchester. But MK is the one weekend I get off a year from the world which is why I go a bit mad there with you lot......
