I need a blinger
« on: February 15, 2013, 09:44 AM »
Guys, I want to get some Araya 7X chromed and, yes I know, chromers are mentioned often but, I want the best chromers for the money around. I know there are a few suggestions from you Northern guys and the chromers down here are far and few between and even then, they want a new Merc price tags for doing it, so....

Who is the best and would you do me the honours of allowing me to send the rims to you to get them chromed and post them back? I would like to see the writing on the rims afterwards and there is nothing better than taking them in and telling them what you want.

Obviously, there would be a drink in it for you.

Cheers  :daumenhoch:

I couldn't tell you on rims but i paid £90 for a set of bars and £70 for 2 crank arms. The work is top notch and they don't fook you about,v.professional.Literally 5 mins round the corner means i can take stuff in and explain any special requirements.Usually about a 3 wk turnaround :daumenhoch:

Fookin ell!  I thought my bars were a little OTT at £55!  Still, you get what you pay for.  Most of the time.

If you want one of the best chromers in the country

http://www.marquerestore.co.uk/

But be prepared to pay for it , I used them for some parts on my replica 356

Not cheap, but you get what you pay for, 6 years on and the chrome work they did still looks new  :daumenhoch:
I might actually build a bike this year instead of just hoarding parts :)

Terry,
Had the rims Araya Rims done on my Cali Boulevard, however not all chromers would touch them as they are Alloy and a different Process is needed Allen Chroming in York did them for me and the finish was / is 1st class but Cost me about £100 for the pair.

Just dropped some bars and opc off for re-chrome yesterday. Bars £50 and crank £30. Had a crank, seat post and spider done before and done a sweet job.
Leigh Metal Polishers in Mcr. I'll get their no. and you could bell em', speak to a geezer called John, tell him what you want and I could drop em off for you.   :daumenhoch:

Allen Chrome (see comment above) did these. Check the GT logo for clarity.

silvabronz in alton hampshire are very good, they do alot of classic motorbikes and cars and do show quality chrome, not cheap though, around £80 per rim and a 6 week wait usually
