This Thursday at Redditch skatepark we will are holding a Open evening to promote the Current skatepark and BMX track and trails proposals. Its all FREE so you can ride the skatepark free all evening. Its a huge park with something for everyone- vert, street course, multi directional Jump box, wallrides, Mini and spine, micro mini ramp and loads more. (to see more about the park goto www.redditchskatepark.co.uk) There is even a bit of dirt to ride with parts of the old trails being used at the momment (these are on the old track site, hopefully soon to be new track site)

The Redditch Premiers BMX Club will have a stand promoting the Club and what we are trying to achieve with the new track. We want as many racers as possible to come down with your bikes to give a strong showing for BMX Racing. We will be having the Mayor and alot of local Councillors coming down to check it all out, these are the people who will be giving the track development the go ahead so the more Riders who come the bigger impression we will make.

So come on bring your race bike, street bike, Cruiser, Mountain bike etc (and helmets if you want to ride the park) whats a couple of hours of your time to help promote BMX and help get a new track to ride.

Below is the press release so read on for more info and directions.............and get yourselves down what ever age you are...........promote BMX

FREE Open evening Thursday 27th July 06 from 5pm
WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT
FREE ENTRY – FREE BUFFET – BMX and SKATE DEMOS
We need as many riders down at the skatepark for a free open evening Thursday 27th July 06 from 5pm till 8pm(or finish). We have the lord mayor; key council officers, councillors and youth work agencies in attendance as well as the general public. The idea is to show them what we have here and what BMX and skating is all about and to recognise the hard work of the charity and the achievement we have made here. This will help us in the future gaining support when it comes to developing the new projects we have in the pipeline also helping to raise our profile.

There will be a guided tour of the skatepark featuring displays which you can take part in. You will have a chance to see the new BMX track redevelopment project at the Redditch Premiers BMX club stand and this again is going to raise the profile of this to the Councillors, they will be the ones giving the go ahead to any plans. There will be a plaque placed and a short ceremony in memory of local skater the late Thomas Bourne who kindly left a donation to the skatepark. The Lord Mayor Cllr Mike Chalk will perform the opening ceremony of our latest ramp project funded by the Local Network Fund. To finish off you will be able to enjoy the buffet and the rest of the evening.
