I like the black MCS's Tom - change from the normal bedecked S&M one's you normally see (not that there's owt wrong with that).  :daumenhoch:

Nice one, that looks great.

Why not put the S&M forks on .... jump one curb ... and then swap them for the MCS forks cos the S&M ones will be bent  ;D

Lovely build, and if you have the S&M forks use them.  :daumenhoch: To me it just looks like you couldnt find a matching set of S&M's with those black ones on.

I sort of *and rant mode engaged* really don't get the 'make the bike match' thing, that bike is lovely for the fact that there's not Redlline single pinchers on there, there's a Peregrine brake rather than a Boa, mallet instead of a Redneck/TNT, MCS forks rather than the uberly priced S&M's, 7X's instead of HP-48's and a Bulldog lever instead of a '77.

Sums up the old 'if it works, bang it on' mid-school more for me than the era correct/must be all from one manufacturer sort of builds we do see a lot of (and again, not that that's a bad thing). Apologies for ranting again  :daumenhoch:

Lovely build Tom  :4_17_5:

No one said "make the bike match"... He asked which forks and thats all that was being discussed. Not sure why you brought all the rest into it as everyone agreed it looked great.  :LolLolLolLol:

I know, I know - I'm in a moany mood  :LolLolLolLol: I sort of brought up the rest to justify me saying the MCS's are corkin' rather than the usual forks you'd see on an early Dirt Bike (and I'm guilty of that - not that it's wrong), and also love the 'patch-work' look that you got on bikes from that period when you were out riding, which again makes me love Toms build on this one. Even though I built this, Tom's looks more mid school than my Holmes:

Which to me, looks a bit more 'generic' nowadays  :daumenhoch: So not having a pop or owt :)

@ the Dordmeister - I've badgered that mo-fo daily - I'm off round to have a word  ;D

You've got a point I think. Toms bike looks 'right' & era correct to Me, a bit of everything!  :daumenhoch: nobody back then had matching parts to any huge extent, sponsored riders included. Everybody just used stuff that worked, I always think the same thing when I see old school rides done like it as well.

agree with above.
top bike that is.

i think what happens is like with the old school bikes.bits go on them now that we couldn't afford back then.
i know i couldn't afford redline flites or profiles so its a treat to fit em nowadays.

cheers for all the sweet comments guys, I had a go at putting the chrome cooks made forks on but made it look kinda plain, think im going to stick with the black MCS ones
I guess my building style the same as what I used to do myself, whatever worked was used, always liked to differenciate from the norm anyway

not for sale anytime soon but not feeling chrome bikes as much anymore so would definately like to swap for an og paint early S&M if there are any floating about out there
