Not all perfect for a 70's build butas close as it ever got.....

Stem, levers, pedals, clamp and tyres not right but here is my 1978 Team Mongoose. It's now back to being a rider again as all that NOS gear is not right on a bike this age.

So i finally re-built my old goose after 11 months and wanted it to be all from good condition rider parts this time, not NOS. Re-did it in the same colours and style but with a few scuffs and scrapes to match the frame and forks.

It's also not era correct but I wanted to build it how it would have looked when I first got into BMX in about '82 so the parts are all about what it woul look like with some upgrades. We hated the chunky Mongoose "gold" stems and heavy vinyl pads bitd and it would have been due a set of 7X's next and MX900's probably as an upgrade.

I hope you like it and get what I mean as to why I built it like this :daumenhoch:

Gotta thank Nick for the hubs, Paul Snav for the rear rim, Pete Quad for the front rim, saddle and front caliper, Iain Phantom Photon for the rear caliper, Tom for the Tech3's, Arno for the cranks, Russ Maddog for the stem and I've forgotten who I got the tyres off but thanks a million  :coolsmiley:

Thanks for the comments lads, makes me all warm and fuzzy inside :daumenhoch:

I took her out for a final spin of the year the other day and grabbed some updated pics. For a 35-year old, I've got to say she rides great :2funny:

Ok probably the final tweak to how this would have looked in 1982 when I was just getting into BMX and loved the look of a gusset Goose. Maybe I'll put a set of used gold Shimmy DX's on her if I ever find some, but we were still riding rat-traps so these will be fine for now :daumenhoch:

In '82 there were only one set of wheels on every kids Christmas list and that was a set of ProClass :coolsmiley: Let's face it,  I'd have knackered those 7C's by now so a Goose needs ProClass >:D

So probably after this point the f&f would have been chucked and a Supergoose 3 or ProClass f&f would have been the upgrade, so I think this is how she's going to stay - my homage to my first BMX love, a good old mk1 Team Goose :smitten:
