Odyssey Forks
« on: January 30, 2013, 01:44 PM »
I'm looking to get a pair of Odyssey forks to go with my 2001/2 T1 Barcode frame.

Looking at the ones for sale on e-bay I have noticed that the hole in the top cap seems off centre,  :wtf:

Is this something special to Odyssey forks only?

I have brought an FSA pig headset, is it compatible with Odyssey forks or must I use the Odyssey top-cap system?

Any help/suggestions appreciated :)

If they use the same topcap as my Director forks they are internally threaded rather than using a star washer thingy. The offset hole you mention is actually where you tighten the cap up with an 8mm Allen key :daumenhoch:
Still limping......

That makes sense, thanks for that.  :daumenhoch:

Think I should probably be able to use the Headset I have and leave the star washer and top cap from the FSA headset out.

:) Does your T1 have regular headset cups? Odyssey forks have a built-in crown race that is designed to fit with headsets with a 45 degree lower bearing....

The offset hole also allows for routing a cable through for a front brake but still be able to tighten it up  :daumenhoch:

I've got a pair of Redline 1 1/8" with AD lugs 14mm forks you can have fella from 2002 that'd fit your standard headset dealio. Don't want owt for em, and I'm conveniently located in Bury ;)

Thanks! :daumenhoch:

Was going to try and get a pair without AD lugs but I'm not going to turn down a free pair of forks, and the AD lugs are probably more
in line with most bikes of that age. The front wheel I have got has 10mm axles is this a problem with 14mm forks. I have read about
adaptors.

Going to send the frame and fork to SuperbikeDan for powder coating.

Will PM you with my contact details.

I think the early ones don't have the built in crown race, but will be quite hard to find, I know Steve Wilson had a pair  ???

If you're going to powder them then why not cut the lugs off amd grind them flush before Dan works his magic ???
