Author Topic: FAKE HARO TYRES?? (Read 532 times)

We all know that there were thousands of fake parts back in the 80's.Some were more blatant rip offs than others.I have a pair of white Haro freestyle tyres which i have been looking to replace with a nos set for ages.I missed a couple of pairs last year due to lack of funds.I have been looking recently and i have seen some black ones for sale,mainly in the far east which is always suspect.The logos on the sidewall on my tyres looks exactly as I remember them to be bitd.The logo however looks wrong on these ebay ones,The font is too tall and the letters spaced out too much.Here are pics of the asian ones i am talking about

Is it just me or do the logos look wrong?does anyone know if there were snides of these tyres made?Or do you think they are trying to make snides now?Here is a pic of the badly faded logo on my tyres

I think it looks a little different.What does everyone else think?

Hard to tell from your pic

Here's the logo on a couple of pairs I've got

They look very similar to the ones in the ebay listings

Your ones look correct to me bro.just something doesn't look quite right to me about the ebay ones.Do you want to sell those white ones?

You're right fella....they look straight in the ebay links
Also loks like they've done a good job of "ageing" them too

I wouldn't take the chance as they're not exactly cheap enough to take a risk for

They look like the early 90s Haro tyres to me, I had some on this....

wouldn't be surprised if they are fakes bud, the cost of o/s genuine tyres is so Fookin high nowadays it's gonna attract the fakers...
why's it so hard to find something that looks ok on o/s & don't cost so much your afraid to use em....
someone make some like pork chop did, you'd clean up & retire to.Thailand & live like a king forever
