Don't presume it is snapped.The threads have possibly gone on the factory brazed boss, and the second clamp was probably positioned by spreading it open (uuurgh) and then bending it back (auuurgh) into position.

Amazing how a persons naivety can draw out the worst in others... Even with a damaged seat tube it's worth a big money... as for getting it chromed, put the crack pipe down and step away from the Visa card It's JMC AP: 333 made, top of the tree quality, rare as funk.
Just thinking about what you said Andy , about the 1.5's not being worth as much as 1.75's , which true :daumenhochBut this is good news if you are building a bike 1984 onwards , because like we said they are era correct The thing is the same goes for Tech IV levers, they're 84 on and at least half the price of a Tech III If you went back to 1984 and had 1.75's and Tech III's on your ride you'd snap someones hand off to swap for a new set of Tech IV and 1.5's That's the wheels and brakes on the AP I still can't justify that Elina UL on the JMC though This JMC can actually SAVE you money,how good is that
I got the AP. the frame is fine. There are no cracks to the seat post.. the thread has gone though hence the reason it had another clamp on it... an easy fix.Can anyone shed any light on the bars? 9" high x 27.5" wide
