Looking nice. I raced a GT Pro BITD too and that brings it all back. Don't think I have ever seen one in blue before.

I raced a GT Pro bitd also , my first decent race bike.

Brings back good memories ....................

Stidds , what's the colour (don't remember a blue like that) on the F+F ? . Did you run 2 brakes bitd ?

BTW the brakes are on the wrong sides lol

Funny that about the brakes as I used to run them that way round as well BITD. Dunno why?

Nice bike you have there.
Almost same like mine!
But I think it's not a 84 model.
Supose these models they made till 83.
You can figure the date out on the serial number.

Johan, I have loved your GT from the 1st time I saw it, it is gorgeous.  I have been reliably informed that it is an 84, but it is a UK spec frame not a US, so different serial numbers.

With regard to the blue, when I rode for them GT did not supply a blue, they only did chrome, white and yellow.  However I kept on to the Team Manager that I wanted a blue one and they supplied me with one to shut me up, eventually I lost all chrome parts on it and it was completely blue and white.

I ran 2 brakes occasionally bitd, it really all depended on which track I was racing at, funny thing is, I always ran 2 brakes with the rear on the left, but if I ran just a rear that was on the right.  It never really bothered me which side they were on as I am ambidextrous.  Greg Hill is similar in that he never had a particular side to run his brakes, just whatever was most confortable on any particular day.

Daz, when I raced I only ever used Cook Bros cranks and hubs, they had the most amazing sealed bearings, they just ran forever, so I really wanted to find some.  Cooks Bros equipment is so underated as everyone wants flight cranks or Profiles.

Bren, I have just bought one from the US, in candy red. Looks kinda weird. It needs full resto though. Not sure whether to stick with it or not, what do ya think? Ad

Real nice bike Stidds

I had a chrome one BITD but didn't trust the forks too much so ran Landing Gear on it.

I think the brake thing is that most english pre bmx bikes were supplied with the brakes that way round (might be a BS standard?) the first bikes I saw with the brakes the other way were US BMX bikes and alot of English rider copied the brake arrangement to be trendy.
Having the back brake on the left has saved me from going over the back on a Motorbike a few times as when the bike has been about to flip (my right foot cannot figure out it has a back brake under it) I've automatically pulled what my hand thinks is a back brake but is infact the clutch and down goes the front wheel.

Why oh why do I still buy kids bikes!
