My BARGAIN Powerlite build..! NEARLY DONE..!
« on: January 20, 2013, 11:21 AM »
I picked up this p61 xl frame and forks with some other bits attached which i will FLIP on.. :LolLolLolLol:
so this frame and forks stand me at about £85 (inc headset and seat clamp)
picked up some new bars from USA £35
Chainring £4.50

I have polished the frame with some metallic paint Tcut and I will try and oxalic the forks
Then New Decals

QUESTION.. Can anyone tell me what wheels would be best for this 1994 build..?
as Im more old school than mid school..

Thanks in advance - Lee

GT Mowhawk 48's on either Araya 7X's or early Sun rims.

If you can find a set, Profile made 3-piece cranks for Powerlite - they're stamped Powerlite on the arms, came out around 94/95:

They're priced about the same as GT stamped ones - round about the £70 mark, although minty one's would set you back about £90.

Stock wheels on that would have been 36 Hole Mohawks and Weinmann Rims. If you keep an eye on the museum you should be able to build them up pretty cheap.  :daumenhoch:
