« on: December 24, 2012, 04:43 PM »
just an observation but why do race bikes have a 27.2mm and freestyle a 25.4mm?

also why dont race bikes use U brakes instead of V brakes

V brakes work a lot better than U brakes.

Seat tube? not really sure, could be something to do with material wall thickness v weight v strength.

Any way, get a custom made, that way you can have what you want ;)

Old pic...

...and chrome rims are very crap in the wet.

V-brakes are quite quick to open up if you needed to change a tyre or mess with the gearing, not sure if U brakes are as quick and convenient.

if you get u brakes that use knarps rather than fixed bolts for the straddle cable then they release as quick as v brakes for wheel swapping etc  :daumenhoch: as Bren says v brakes work better

Nice bike Bren by the way :daumenhoch:,  not seen that one before , defo an old pic you can see the first berm if it were a recent pic it'd be behind the "JUMP OF DOOM"   :LolLolLolLol:
