I have always used Allen Chrome in Pocklington, their work is awesome but with it being up by York getting stuff up and down can be a drag.
They are not the cheapest and their turn around time can be slow, depending how busy they are obviously.
But I cannot stress enough just how good their work is.
I've put a 'test' rim into the scooter shop on Corporation Road to see what their work is like. They quoted £65 for a 24" Araya rim to be de-chromed and re-chromed and a 6 week turn around.
I haven't got it back yet, but if it comes back and is good, it solves the aggro of getting stuff up to York.

ive just got there number off gaz and there lead time is now 24 weeks they wouldnt be ready for the rideout at this rate but like you say there reputation keeps them busy ive just priced up anodising stuff wich is a lot cheaper and a five day turn around so it just might have to be skyways for the ride out and the rims and hubs to come later ....
