Oven pride on chainring
« on: January 01, 2013, 04:06 PM »
With Oven pride a modellers paint brush and a steady hand ,you can remove the anodising from sugino chainring teeth an inch at a time rinsing with water as you go . It leaves a perfect machined look and fully anodised ones always seem cheaper as nobody wants them!!

Did this one in the summer  , been rode a lot since doing it ,if you look there is a step in the machining which helps guide the brush

On closer image you can see some I've missed near chain

To be honest I just went for it as I'm terrible at masking curves and I thought tape might suck the oven pride in!!  I had nothing to loose as they look awful  with anodising  half worn off by the chain  :)
