I would say the track to PI is about 2 miles. If you are bringing your car anyway I would recommend driving it however there are a number of pubs en-route. Those of us who are local will ride it and have a swifty on the way

Here are some highly accurate maps WITH PUBS ADDED depicting the route from racetrack to Pleasure Island.
If you are driving home that day, it's probably worth driving from the track to Pleasure Island.
They have a free car park, if you do drive there, use the tarmac 'overflow' car park.

****IMPORTANT NOTICE*****

There will be road closures in Cleethorpes on this day due to the carnival.
If you are going to arrive at the track at 1pm this will not affect you.
If you are travelling to meet at 3pm at Pleasure Island please take note.

If you are travelling along the A16 or A46 or A18 you WILL NOT be affected. Follow signs for CLeethorpes and pick up the brown tourist signs for Pleasure Island.

IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON USING THE A180, THE LINK ROAD TO CLEETHORPES (GRIMSBY ROAD) WILL BE CLOSED FROM APPROX 2.45PM. YOU CAN LEAVE THE M180/A180 JUNCTION (JUNCTION 5) AND JOIN THE A18 AT BARNETBY, FOLLOW SIGNS TO HUMBERSIDE AIRPORT THEN CONTINUE THROUGH TO CLEETHORPES AS ABOVE. ALTERNATIVELY YOU CAN FOLLOW A180 INTO GRIMSBY AND FOLLOW SIGNS TO THE TOWN CENTRE AND TAKE PEAKE'S PARKWAY CLEETHORPES THAT WAY. THE ROADS WILL BE OPEN ONCE THE CARNIVAL ENDS AT 5PM.

There really isn't a big hotel there. There are loads of b&b on Isaacs Hill if you google that. Lenny is at the Dovedale just on the seafront.

The road outside Pleasure Island will be closed to vehicles from 3pm to 6:30pm due to the carnival.
This will not affect if you get there before then and park in the OVERFLOW CAR PARK.
this is the tarmac car park at the front of Pleasure Island.
the gravel main car park is available but is locked after the park closes.

Because the Cleethorpes carnival is on it WILL BE BUSY.

Some of the pubs are using this day to have bands on outside so it should be a bit of a giggle.

The weather is forecast HOT so dress/lube up accordingly

Look folks, it is going to be very very busy on Saturday. If you are driving, please take into consideration the road closures that have been mentioned. BE EARLY. The seafront will be packed and I ask that you give due regard to pedestrians when we cycle around. We will endeavour to drop into as many pubs as possible, but if they are heaving we will move on to the next one. Let's have a good day on what is essentially a bike ride not a hangover style pub crawl. The beer is a bonus.

I've been along the seafront this morning, it is looking splendid as well as busy! There will be loads to see but loads of people around too. The fun races at the track are sorted, we even have the start gate arranged for the pump time trial. The bunny hop apparatus is built and ready to go.
