Anyone been reading the Bullseye thread on the museum?
« on: December 11, 2012, 05:13 PM »
Has anyone else been following this? http://bmxmuseum.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=475473&p=1

I wasnt paying much attention to the thread at first but it seems that Bullseye shot its self in the foot here. Long story short Bullseye have been making new hubs for years and selling them as NOS.... Pretty sad really. I wonder how many people have paid top dollar for these thinking they were originals.  ::)

(Apologies if this is a repost)

lol NOS  :idiot2:

I always asumed they were still making them  :-\

As no one would have that sort of stock pile  :idiot2:
I might actually build a bike this year instead of just hoarding parts :)

Cant be arsed to read it all...

In a nut shell the owner of the company sent out an email saying certain people were selling "fake" bullseye hubs and asked people not to buy them. After much fuss it turns out that Bullseye have fallen out with their manufacturer so were trying to make out like the manufacturer was making and selling fakes. The manufacturer just chimed in and said he had been making the hubs for bullseye right up until this year and basically spilled the beans on what Bullseye for making new hubs and selling them as originals.

I see...thanks for the summary Jon.  :daumenhoch:

How can these contemporary hubs be distinguished from OS?

Been having a read, been a known fact for a while about the 'NOS' Bullseye stuff. When did the manufacturer pipe in on the thread though? Thought I'd read all of - must have missed that bit :)

Exactly  :daumenhoch:

That's why I 've never had a build with Bullseye hubs

Haven't  the originals got brown bearings and an offset step on the rear

But alot of people are happy to have repop ,look at all the restored bikes with  Hutch Skyway and Haro stuff  :-\

Must be a pig finding out ,,if you thought what you bought was OS though  :-\

I will go through and see if I can find it again. It was a rather ambiguous comment and then later on another person chimes in saying that person was involved with the manufacturer. Ill skim through and see if I can find it.
