Bristol/South west meet.
« on: January 10, 2013, 09:24 AM »
I've bee thinking we should have a meet/rideout over Bristol way for some time now.

Some guys i used to hang with at Skate & Ride park (now Motion) back in the 90's are having an old fools type meet at said venue on 26th of Jan. I know there are a few of us that reside in the south west and i spotted our very own Stidds on the going list, so how about we rock up on some proper old school rides and join the party?

Info lifted from the facebook event page:

'Old-Fools' Day (or over 30's old farts BMX day)
Motion Ramp Park
74-78 Avon Street, Bs2 0px Bristol, United Kingdom

Saturday, 26 January 2013
I have been inspired and grown up from watching all the old skool riders and I still think its amazing when I see veterans riding about with a smile as big as mine still even so many years down the line.

Through conversations with Greame Hardy, Seb Bennerson, and others I have decided that Bmx needs a day that reminds people where bmx came from and the people behind it. I even seen Jon Dye (edited by GH to question if Hamlin was on Morphine after a crash when he watched the olympics as I'm pretty sure JD wasn't riding?) smashing airs at the Olympic ceremonies practice...everyone still has it.

Why Come?
We are going to have loads to do on the day even if you dont want to ride such as:
-Classic Bike collections (trying to get as many old skool bikes down to display like a wv fest)
-Brandy coffees, food and more for your stay
-A RE-Premier of an old skool bmx film
-We are going to give away stuff to the riders but not in a contest sense by any means
-theres going be allot of people here so its going to be a really good day to meet up with old faces
So Ring your old friends and bring your old friends?
"How old is too old?" free your calander and come along.

Seb Bennerson:
Hi all, this is an apology to Lifer BMX and a clarification to those who need it.
The Old Fools Jam at motion has no connection to the the Old Fools road trips put on by Lifer, in a nutshell we were using the name when putting this jam together and it didn't get changed between the idea stage and getting put up on here.
We at motion would like to apologise unreservedly for hijacking what is universally acknowledged to be one of the great ideas in bmx of recent years. If you have a few years under your belt I can heartily recommend hooking up with these guys on their next outing. If you have any queries about the jam, please post on here, if you have any queries about the road trips please look up Lifer Crew.
Thanks for reading, see you at the jam.
