Bikes and their colour schemes?
« on: November 17, 2012, 07:14 PM »
I just saw a fantastic Torker on Facebook. Looked great in gold and chrome, how Torkers should be. Redlines rarely appear in anything other than red. What other bikes just "have" to be dressed in a particular colour scheme?

Some bikes just look right in certain colourways

My fav that I built was the DB Senior Pro which was Chrome & Blue with no domination of Blue or Chrome just the right balance

Torkers work well in White with Black & Gold parts & Candy red with Gold parts

Redline MXIIs look lush in Candy Blue or Black , I don't particularly like Redlines in White / Red

Who a few years back did the TA in Baby Blue coz that was unusual colourway but worked in my opinion

To be brutally honest I think most of us get caught in the trap of "Factory Spec"
Where I'm more of the start with F&F then custom build/ fantasy/dream build as I did with the DB by putting top qual parts On her that were only available when F&F Senior Pro was released 1981/82

Some bikes seemed to be born to be a certain colour but if you can build one in a different colour scheme and still make it look good then why not ?  ???
I'm all for factory spec bikes but i'm all for something a bit different too. Nothing to OTT though. I just like nice bikes !  :daumenhoch:

We used to have a mate who was doing bodyshop work in college so he used to do all our bikes. My dyno was in pastel blue with a pink flip. and my torker was yellow and we did a smoke effect on that. I also had a trm that was purple metalflake. That was a long time ago now though but im going to do the redline yellow.
