Cool Idea and nicely done. I like it.

But I do have 2 questions ...

1- what is going on with the spoke pattern? How come you have 2 spokes from the same side of the flange next to each other on the rim?

2- I do like what you have done, but .... why? We all like the look of a skyway tuff but yours just looks like a spoked wheel. And it will still flex like a tuff, and the tire might pop off, and the brake wont work. It seems like a whole ton of effort for a novelty wheel. Wouldn't it have been much easier (and more functional) to paint a metal rim yellow and put a skyway sticker on it, like you did with the hubs? Or even just put a skyway sticker on a Zrim??

Looking through some old mags, Skyway seemed to have plans to bring out a spoked wheel, maybe thats how it would have look had it happened...cool  :daumenhoch:

The spoke holes took a bit of working out but in the end i just used two precisely cut peaces of oak. One i lay a 2h pencil on and ran round the rim whilst lay of a flat table then flipped for a mirror image on the other side of the rim. The hole spacing consisted of marking either side of the second block and moving along hole by hole. Once i got the width of the wood exactly right it was pretty easy  :daumenhoch:

The spoke pattern is just something i made up last night as the spokes i had were a touch too short. They will be laced in a 3x pattern when the spokes arrive but i wanted to try, albeit with an odd lacing pattern to see if the rims could take the tension.

Painting a metal rim yellow and putting a Skyway sticker on it is in the realms of the pop tribute dude on ebay.  ;)

Yeah that was me  :LolLolLolLol:
I didn't think it would be so hard to find a set but i guess people just strip the hubs out and bin them if they are knackered  :'(

Top job :daumenhoch:
I've wondered if it is possible to machine a recess in the rim and bond a aluminum braking surface onto a tuff.

Should be pretty easy. You could get a ring waterjet cut and machining a slot for it shouldn't be too difficult. Just need the right glue  :daumenhoch:
