VDC RETRO FREESTYLER
« on: November 15, 2012, 12:54 AM »
Spotted this on ebay a week or so ago, thought it was pretty cool so had a cheeky bid, never in a million years expected to win the fooking thing! So,here it is the one off VDC Retro freestyler produced by Voris himself and using styling cues from the original .I have an email confirming it is a one off and he will not be producing another. It has a 21" top tube,AD mounts and 1 1/8" threadless forks and all in all am well chuffed,My mate Benny however loved it and the decision was made halfway through bidding that he is gonna have it as i can't really justify any more bikes financially and space wise.Plans for the build so far are Retro VDC freestyle bars,VDC stem and cranks.should be something pretty special when done,I know retro bikes aren't everyones cup of tea-but you gotta admit this is pretty cool! :daumenhoch:

Mmm the platform seems to be in the wrong place?  :idiot2:

My honest opinion on this frame is it looks fooking awful!!   :-X

But hey I suppose someone is going to like it.  :daumenhoch:

I like that, something a bit different.

Before you build it up with retro VDC stuff you might want to consider how it will ride wit thoes big fugly bars an tank cranks.

Anice set of retro profiles would be just as nice  :daumenhoch:

I spotted that on ebay too, didn't bid, but it was a good price.., glad a RADster bought it, as it will be very interesting to see it built up.

Interesting (but ugly) frameset, just as the OG was...  :crazy2: :coolsmiley:

You're right Darren, some frames do look ugly on their own but once built look fantastic. It will indeed be an interesting build. The price you paid from Subwax was a steal in my opinion.  :daumenhoch:

Good luck with the build chaps.

I will watch as you build this bike as it is it is fooking ugly in all ways possible.

It is weird that Voris Dixon who designed some lovely bikes bitd, penned that thing also.

I can only imagine that the drawings that he did for it were done when he was in a straight jacket, locked in a padded room, with a crayon between his toes  :D

Thanks Adam,I thought it was a steal too!Think thats why he wanted to charge me £500 for the matching bars! ::)I know it's a bit of a marmite frame, just like the original but i just thought it's heritage was just just too cool.I like it just for the simple fact that you will never see anyone else riding one!,and fugly or not,it is beautifully made. :daumenhoch:
