Redline ST 20 survivor - ish
« on: July 12, 2006, 05:03 PM »
i use the word survivor loosely - it has all of its original parts at least.
belongs to a mate of mine. its spent the last couple years outside, and the chrome is fubar
he says he is willing to spend a few hundred quid rebuilding it - and is gonna get the frame + fork + bars rechromed
its a good bike under all that crud. circa 1984

any idea where i can get the stickers?

Thats pretty cool. Don't know whether it will be restorable for a couple of hundred if he wants it re-chromed. Has he thought about white ? I can't say I have seen a ST-20 before. Nearest decals I have found is for a PL20 as seen on one that I had.

By all accounts they aren't accurate, and I had to actually cut and overlap the downtube stickers as they are made to cruiser length. Available from bmxstop.com of Ginny's.

its worse on the forks. its like tinfoil, peeling off.

the bars are peeling too. and some areas of the frame have peelage

i suggested to him to get it powdered white, but he wants it to look original

will look good with the rechrome!!

I hear that. I have 3 sets of Redline forks and all have the chrome peeling off them. Redline couldn't chrome anything to save thier lives.
