Cables...
« on: October 22, 2012, 05:08 PM »
Maybe an odd question this but here goes....if you were doing an era correct build (not spec) for late 70's/early 80's (79-82ish) and you didnt want DC cables what else would you use?....when did the powerglide cables come out?....also they need to be a yellow colour outer too if such a thing existed?...... :-\ ???
Cheers.
Ronnie.

There were various Powerglide outers in various colours. Era specific is a toughee.

and if you get stuck, you can always find some old school cables from the 70's -80's for most bikes on ebay ~ they should be the right colour for the date/year as most were a canary yellow

Yea Ive always used the cables on my roadies and mtbs from bitd (still do) .....I also see Shimano make a Dura Ace cable set in yellow (other colours available too) so I will just have to change the roadie pear nipple inners for barrell mtb versions and game on....not old or era but at least shimano :D
