If it's chrome it will be a late 90's maybe 94/95 and I'm pretty sure that only made them in chrome in that year, so the choice is yours lol, but they made them in loads of colours over the years

pics please...how bad is the chrome?

is it worth a soak in oxalic acid first?

Nice fella - if there's a fair bit of rust give it a citric or oxalic bath - that'll get rid of the rust, then a polish up with some Peak will finish it off nice :)

Here's a thread on ratio's of OA to water:

http://www.radbmx.co.uk/forum/index.php'topic=124340.0

And here's where to get it:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/500g-Oxalic-Acid-Hull-Deck-GRP-Cleaner-Rust-Remover-/280393110775?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_BoatEquipment_Accessories_SM&hash=item4148bb54f7

You can use your household bath (if the missus doesn't mind) - if not buy a cheap kiddies swimming pool from Argos :) Fill bottles of water and pop em in the bath with the frame - you'll need less water in the bath/OA then.
