97 Standard Trail Boss
« on: September 24, 2012, 10:07 PM »
I picked this up a little while ago off of Dan and thought I would share a few pics with you guys. I spotted it in the corner of one of his collection pics, and after a few back and forward mails I headed down to pick it up.  Its the same bike that was featured in the Rad Rides book, but Dan was kind enough to let me switch out a few parts while I was there so as to build it up exactly how I wanted. The spec is as follows.

Frame: Standard Bykes Trail Boss
Fork: Standard Bykes (pre bash model)
Bars: Early GT made S&M Slam bars
Headset: Standard Bykes titanium cups with tank internals
Stem: Standrad Bykes top load
Lever: Dia Compe Tech 77
Rear Brake: Shimano U Brake
Girps: Jive
Seat Clamp: Odyssey
Seat Post: Primo Rod
Seat: Primo hemeroid
Cranks: Redline Flight
Sprocket: Profile Whippet
Pedals: Shimano DX
Chain: KMC Z
Wheels: Peregrine Super Pro with King axle upgrade
Tyres: Rainbow Tioga Comp III

Cheers for all the kind words folks. For me the Trail Boss is a definitely one of the iconic bikes from the 90's east coast scene. I remember watching videos like Anthem and Seek & Destroy and nearly everyone was killing it on a Trail Boss. Since then I have always wanted one so Im really happy to have this example in my collection.
