What is the functional difference between a wire bead and kevlar bead and is it worth the extra money  :-\

Kevlar is lighter and foldable. Debatable whether or not it's worth it. I don't know of any durability differences but I wouldn't expect there to be much difference.

kevlar beaded tyres have less rolling mass and are foldable so can be store in a bag easier
