Newbie from Australia
« on: August 30, 2012, 11:53 AM »
Hi,

I am a collector of Australian bikes, namely the Repco Hotfoot and the Malvern Star SuperMax.  I host tribute sites to both these bikes here > www.bloggingadeadhorse.com/hotfoot.php and here > www.bloggingadeadhorse.com/supermax.php.  So why am I here?  The Repco Hotfoot was really popular in the early '80s in Australia and was made by Giant.  The same bikes were built for other regions including the UK and sold under many different names.  In the UK, they were sold as Falcon Pros, Falcon Beta and so forth.  I am guessing they were also sold under different names .. I want to collect information about all of these variants for my site.

Some of my bikes ..

1981 Motomag

2007 Kuwahara KZ-1R

1984 Redline PL-20 Carrera

1985 Repco Team Hotfoot

1983 Speedwell Sting CrMo (same as a SuperMax)

1981 Mavlern Star SuperMax

1987 Redline 400c

1982 Repco Team Hotfoot

1982 Repco Hotfoot XGusset

Funny .. for an Australian made bike there seems to be very few of them around compare to say the imported Hotfoot or Mongoose.  The CrMo SuperMax (Identical to the Spedwell above) is a great bike and is identical to the Redline MXII with the only difference being that they have a 1" top tube whereas the Redline has 1 1/8" tube.  A lot of SuperMax frames have the Redline stamp on the bottom as they were made in the same factory.

I have met Trent a couple of times - I helped him out with a seat post for his PK Ripper and have traded some bits with him.  I am a big fan of SuperMax bike > www.bloggingadeadhorse.com/supermax.php < and have been watching his most recent build with anticipation.

Is he on this site?
