That's a next Gen Holmes. You don't see many of those about. Or not as many as you see Next Gen Dirtbikes

The "XL" is because the Holmes frame was the extra long S&M frame.

There weren't "different length" Holmes or Dirtbikes, but both frame sets changed length over the years. (generally, they got longer as time went on).

exactly.

the dirt bike was the regular size frame, with the holmes being the xl version. both the front and rear ends gradually extended over the years, e.g.with a 93 dirt bike being the same size as a 92 holmes.

Nope, I hated it  :-[

I was never worried about weight but my NG frame was just too much and it was real hard work to ride.
And the short front end and long back end didnt help matters at all  :-\

From the NG dirtbike I went back to a normal (Oversized) dirtbike, then to a Challenger, just to try and get rid of some weight (even though both those frames were still pretty heavy).

After that I had a Bennet and a PBR, both of which were tanks.
I wasnt really happy till I got my LAF, which was GREAT!  :)

I bet the NG Holmes rides nicer than the NG Dirtbike. The only reason I never rode a Holmes was cos I was worried about the long back end, but now any Holmes rides way better than old Dirtbikes.
