Does this qualify as Mid school??

An '89 Mk2 Street beat nos chrome and Aqua. Was really after a red and chrome but when this came up still in its original box had to have it.

This was also finished a few months back, some parts not quite period perfect Also bars could do with a fresh paint as are more nicotine yellow than white.

Now has some small scratches to pedals and one brake lever after a drink fuelled tail whip at a recent BBQ I managed to throw it down my drive way

I wouldn't worry, the seat/post combo distracts you sufficiently. Apart from that, really nice bike

Got them of the bay, from china I think?? They look nice but are prolly the most uncomftably grips I have ever used! Feel like the are made out of solid plastic

You have an 880 caliper on the front, turn the adjuster up the other way and you wont need to run the cable out of the bottom of the forks and then over the top of the brake in the traditional sense, run it from the bottom up

i think i would qualify it as old school. to me, mid school is overbuilt, overweight tanks. at least the ones i rode were.

Lovely bike and the colour combination works really well. 

Given the parts list though Id say this is more of an old school build though.

I think it does qualify, but it would have to be a bit more ratty, and a welded gusset up front or something.
I dug out an old ammaco in 94, with green tuffs on to get me back out riding - saved up got a holmes - put the parts of the ammaco on it, and replaced them bit by bit, 48s, haro knee savers - they then got replaced with slam bars, profile cranks.  But, you know, you'd see bikes with bits from the 80s in the 90s
I rode a dp as a kid in the 80s, but cracked it up front- gave it to my mate who welded a gusset up front and he rode it in 94, ha.
Dirt bros used skyways too didnt they - like vic m had knee savers and pitch forks on a skyway.

whats up with the brake levers though... could do with tilting down a bit 

totally era correct or not it does look the part ...  perhaps you could learn something from this build Pickle... try and get yours looking better

That's why the brake does not work  Thanks for advice i will have a go when it's out of storage. Seem to remeber trying this at the time but to be honest as soon as it was put together it had to go into storage, bmx's and babies in a one and half bed flat do not mix well!!
The brakes in general need sorting I actually bought the 880 for the bake that's why if you look closely it only bolts through one half of the forks! I really wanted to use the ad mounts on the back but the only white brake I could find was a hombre! Not particularly era correct!! It also fowls on the chain wheel. If anyone knows what sort of brakes would suit this and are available in white please let me know.
As for the tyres that's just me being a dumb arse!

we 've all done similar stuff with the tyres mate 
got the same 'beat as you mate +got an ad 990 on the rear with no issue's with catching on chainwheel. can't remember if they did white though   .could always got one powdered white i suppose
