Well my delivery of rusty old bits arrived today......  :)

Bit of work needed to remove headset without causing any more damage to the threads, and guess what..the seat post is stuck...... ::)

Should make a nice project that  :daumenhoch:

Loads of threads on stuck seatposts on here  :D , use the 'search' button if your struggling to get it out ;)

What's the plans for it , survivor resto or new paint/powder etc ??
WANTED : Old school BMX patches/sew on badges ......  please  :)

Going to try a survivor resto if possible, got the coke and tin foil all ready

If I can't save the chrome then it's a powder job and quite a lot more money for shiny parts ha ha  :)

I'll have a look through the stuck seatpost threads, been given a few techniques, so hopefully one will work without trashing the post

You will be surprised how well the coke and tinfoil works , I have used Lemon juice with tinfoil in the past and have had some great results  ;)

Other option is to soak it in an oxalic bath .... far less labour intensive  :D

Looking forward to seeing the progress on this one  :daumenhoch:

 A great buy!

The 4130 frames are really light.

I've got a couple myself awaiting resto.

It is very light, I'm just ammassing the supplies  ready to start attempting to resurrect the chrome as I'm approaching a 10 day break
I shall take plenty of pics, using bendy's thread as its very bad in places, the bars are terrible so that's where I'll start

Can you tell me what is stamped on the forks? I have a set of DB forks on one of mine, and a set which I think are Ammaco stamped luing or something. I've bought some Akisu forks that look similar, although thinner in curcumference. Thanks.

Thats the only thing that is stamped onto them in the first pic

A blade sounds brutal. I use foil rolled into a ball, dull side out.

I thought that at first, but you're using it gently and just skimming the surface to remove the furry rust build up, very long process but the results so far really do speak for them selves, I'll be trying the foil way on another bit for comparison
