I keep seeing Oddy Barefeet tyres on Mid school builds ... are these really from the mid 90s? I thought they were late 80s ... but what do I know.

I just have a thing about them as I was running a set when I broke my collar bone

but I still don't like them ... kinda like those Vans brake blocks

They were around 87/88 time. You are right about them being complete and utter shite!
I wouldn't use them on anything.

That doesn't surprise me. They didn't sell that well.
My tyre of choice in that era was acs rl edge. Bloody awesome tyre. But this is only my opinion.

It's a shame you don't see these come up that often.

Barefeet were sold all the way up to 95 in the USA.

Haha, I didnt take it that way.

I actually asked the same question when looking for mid tyres for my builds. After 96 everything pretty much went Primo. Pre 95 your choice is Peregrine, Barefeet, Haro, or GT. There were a few others but those were the main brands. Now days barefeet are the cheapest of the early 90's tyres.
