My Third Build 1990 Robinson Pro
« on: August 30, 2012, 06:21 PM »
My third Build has been the one I have taken more time over collecting the parts and refraining from building this until I have it all 100% in a box....... :daumenhoch:

To start with selecting a collection of parts to  Build a complete custom Bike using some of the most memorable components I could remember  back then obviously with budget in mind., I have a couple of bits to add yet albeit I will update the thread in line with the progression.

It was not a difficult decision to buy my second Robinson  :smitten: Being a Wigan lad and having ALANS on your door step we  saw many of them raced at the Three sisters/Preston/Coppull and the local Winstanley Woods tracks amongst others we all rode together BITD.... :daumenhoch:
I also would mention my experioence of Robinsons is of the gusseted model like my Daughters albeit a bit small now for me to ride in Anger....I therefore took  Joff's ( Norty40 ) for a  test ride on our outings and of course seeing Carls bikes is over-load to a Robinson Fan :smitten: :daumenhoch:

The Sum of the parts to date

I do build every part of the bike and update the thread as I commence with the build, hope you like the bike guys.. :daumenhoch:

Very nice. Thats going to be a thing of shiny loveliness. I have one of there in black. It feels very light and flimsy compared with anything modern but  mine stood up well to some racetrack thrashing.

Cheers Joff,

It's  a cracking bike to ride, good geometry for a race bike more aggressive than the GT and it a very light  bike  too :daumenhoch:

Thanks buddy,

Rim strips, you mean the red tapes ? If so yes mate  got some ribbon tape off eBay £1.00 still got quite a roll left for the next set.... ;)

These later GT Robbo"s are rather tasty, Carl has many models of theses GT/Robbo"s and to be honest I would definately look at another anyway, Joff has a tasty one he thrashes round on too, and if it's good enough for those guys .... :daumenhoch:
